| I have noted that at high speeds when I put the car in neutral and let the engine come down to idle, the engine wants to 'hunt' a little and not stabilize. I'm sure it is because of the same reason. I haven't had it stall because of this yet, although I will be looking further into eliminating this. There will always be variances between one car to the next even when there are no problems with either one. Fortunately for us, that variaition is only good for about 0.1-0.3 points on an A/F chart. I have performed a number of dynos with similar cars and the same program and it is amazing how close they all are to each other. Things like boost leaks or improperly connected fuel pressure regulators will cause that variance to be higher, but that is another nice thing about a dyno day; if your car performs far from standard, its a good indication there's a problem and looking at the A/F gives lots of good ideas as to what the problem could be. An AFC is a nice tool but they are relatively expensive. A linear fuel map and an adjustable fuel pressure regulator will allow you to adjust your A/F to the target ratio is all you need. An AFC isn't totally necessary. Variations in A/F are attributed to leaks in the system. I will be posting more info on thursday about this too so keep an eye out..
